Ice.
I WANT ICE!
No . . . I need ice.
I will fill my glass full of ice and then put a little hot water in it -- to melt it down, so it is not so hard. Then I drink the water and chew on the ice. I do this many times a day. Sometimes I wake-up in the middle of the night, turn a movie on, and chew on ice. My teeth are probably going to fall out.
Chewing on ice is really irritating -- if you are not the one doing it. I have spent many a movie-night chopping away at my ice, while Charles is gritting his teeth. I can't help it. I have to do it! I don't know what it is . . . but it is soothing. I am probably dehydrated or something, and my body is begging for water. And, anyway, I don't mind being irritating. Not when it comes to my ice-need.
I heard somewhere you can go to restaurants and buy bags of ice -- like at Sonic, or something? They have the ice that is not quite so hard . . . it is kinda chewy? Has anyone ever done that before? Mmmmm . . . chewy-ice sounds fantastic!
That's so funny! If you remember I had the same craving while I was pregnant with Kellen. My mouth would literally water when I would think of chewing on ice. I remember saying to my sister- in-law that there was something so satisfying about chewing on ice. She looked at me a little bit like I was crazy. I've heard that other people have had this craving while pregnant, so it's not too abnormal.;) My sister said it can also be signs of an iron deficiency. However, my cravings went away after having Kellen so I think for me it was just the pregnancy. At least with that craving I know I was probably more hydrated then ever in my life. I would fill the glass halfway with ice, and the rest with water. By the time I'd finished the water the ice was to the perfect chewing stage. I couldn't get enough. Yum!!
ReplyDeleteYou really can buy bags of the good chewy ice at Sonic! I am a big ice chomper too, and it drives Ammon crazy, but in my defense, I try to chomp as quietly as possible. I'm pretty sure my teeth will fall out one day because of it. Ammon will love that I'm sure. :)
ReplyDeleteJeromy does that with his orange juice and ice. And he swishes his soda around in his mouth before he swallows it. (Nothing to do with ice--just an annoying habit I pointed out to him recently!)
ReplyDeleteJeromy loves those little ice balls that are easy to chew. Maybe someday we'll have our own machine!
I'm still waiting for my phone call and I'm beginning to think you don't like me...............waiting just waiting sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteDont' deny me blessings, it's not christ like.

i can't stand it when people chew ice around me....totally grates on my nerves! i will have to give you a pass on this one since i am not around you when you are doing it, but rest assured my visit would be short if i was when you were. ;)
ReplyDeletehoping the next week goes by faster than ever for you and that you can get some of that fancy sonic ice to hold you over until the baby comes...i think that ice would be less annoying too. :) xoxo
I do remember, Rachelle . . . I thought you were crazy. :-) Now I get it!
ReplyDeleteSarah, that is too funny. Let's hope our teeth stay in our heads!
Becky, like I said, it is annoying if anyone else does it!
Melissa, it is because I love you that I have not called you . . . I know you are a newborn mommy! In a few weeks, after the baby is born then I will beg for help and food. :-) Your blessings will come . . . be patient.
Erin, I bet you would tolerate my ice-chewing, just because you love me so much. :-)
I've done it at Sonic, too. Just go through the drive-thru and ask for a bag of ice! Weirdo.
