Presenting . . .

The moment you have all been waiting for . . .

Well, more like, the moment my Mother has been waiting for! :-)

Are you ready to handle the cuteness???
.
.
.
.
.
No, really, are you ready???
.
.
.
.
.
TA-DA!!!
Yup, it is me in ALL my glory!
You know, I think I was meant for this pioneer-garb? Yes?
Don't you just want to hug me?
My kids sure did!
I finally have all of my ensemble put together! Yippee!
My special shirt from L.L.BEAN just arrived . . . it is called a "Tropic-wear" shirt. It is super-lightweight and has SPF built into the material -- so I will not burn and die. (I am telling you, burning is a HUGE issue for me, and could be pretty dangerous!) Charles was out hiking last year and even he (who tans nicely) blistered through his shirt!

Not bad . . . for a mother of 11. :-)
I think braids will be necessary for me.
The bonnet makes a regular-pony pretty uncomfortable.
And if the sun is out, the bonnet MUST be on!
Yee-HA!
I am ready, let's GO!!

  5. Whoa Mari! If you greet me like that at the airport, I'll try not to mess up your apron with my tears of love and laughter. : ) You really do look incredible. All I could do was laugh and smile when I saw your pic because I can only imagine myself dressing up like that and trying to have a good attitude. I hope you do get to wear tennis shoes or hiking boots. What is your foot wear?

  8. Yes, you look adorable!! I'm so amazed at all you've done ALREADY, and the trek hasn't even started! I think maybe I could handle going on the actual trek, but I wouldn't be very good at all the pre-trek activities.
