Here are the requested photos of poor Daniel. I tried to take fairly modest pictures of him, but the hives are EVERYWHERE! These were taken tonight (Sunday). He is still covered from head to toe. It has been over a week now. He is in good spirits, but when he itches -- it makes him crazy. There was one night when he came into our room at about 2:00a.m., crying, and saying, "I can't stand it!" I woke up and gave him a baking soda bath (with my eyes closed) and did the Aloe rub-down and some Benadryl. He was shaking, and crying, so I took him to the couch and wrapped him in a blanket. I said a Mother's prayer, asking that he could be comforted, and rest. He was breathing quickly at first, saying it hurts -- so I pleaded my cause to Heavenly Father. As I prayed, Daniel immediately slowed his breathing, and then he fell asleep in my arms. I am grateful that I can talk to God, and ask for His help. Sometimes, relief is immediate, sometimes it is not. I was grateful that this time it was immediate. There was nothing else that could be done for him, he just needed Heavenly help. I am grateful that my simple prayer was answered.
Hopefully, Daniel will return to full health soon! :-)
*Don't forget to pray for Daniel, Mom. Remember what your prayers are promised to do? :-)
I'm so sorry Danny has to suffer with that. Are you sure it is not chicken pox?
ReplyDeleteWhatever, it looks miserable.
I love you Danny and will pray for you.

Everything will be okay! He's part Lindquist so he'll be able to make it through. Tell Danny his favorite cousin loves him and misses him and hopes he'll get well soon.

I wish it was chicken pox! Then I would know what to do! He had that rash of hives on his tummy for about 5 months, and it looks exactly like it.
ReplyDeleteI was talking to someone at church yesterday and she said she gets something similar when she comes in contact with something she is allergic to. She also said the hives can last weeks, even months! Ick!
Daniel is really doing great -- despite the way he looks. He is happy, and playing like normal. :-)(When he is not having an itch-attack!)
Thanks Katie-Lady, I will give Dan the message! :-)
Love ya,
Mari
does he have the hives on his palms and bottom of his feet?
ReplyDeleteI have had similar reaction since October and have been on steroids, zyrtec and pepcid. It seemed to be working a little, however I still have nasty flare ups. They still have no clue what it is except that it is a form of auto immune disease...I hope he gets better soon and it was just bun bun. I wouldn't wish this on anyone especially a kid.
Try giving him children's zyrtec...it is the best! Let me know what you find out.
Oh man, poor guy. I hope that is goes away soon. Your story about your mother's prayer made me all teary eyed. I know the feeling when you just want them to be ok--they sure have a strong hold on our hearts don't they? :) Get better soon Danny!!
