For FHE we almost always have a lesson from the scriptures and then we color a picture about the lesson. Last night was from 3rd Nephi, when Jesus came to the Nephites and had them touch the prints in his hands and feet. These pictures are our interpretations of the event. ;-) I love the kids drawings. In Sammi's she drew her and her friend Julia there (the S and J on the shirts). Daniel drew our whole family (the picture at the bottom). Charles drew what it would have looked like before getting to him (second one down). I drew a picture by looking at the pictures in the scriptures (picture on top). We love to do this for FHE. The kids love it too. It is always fun to see what they imagine, and it makes them think!

ReplyDeleteYour family is sooo artistic Mari. Amazing drawings. I need to work on that talent. I'm going to start painting a sign for Stephen's room today. They are wood letters and it will say: "Lead Me, Guide Me, Walk Beside Me." I will put this in his room above his window as a reminder to me, Ray and all who enter what we need to do for our children.

I don't think I could draw anything close to those.
We love to do it. Sometimes we get a little friendly competition going on between me and Charles - so we do not slack on our pictures and just draw stick-men. It makes us try a little harder.
ReplyDeleteSammi also got a new bucket full of art supplies for Christmas. It is a much more enjoyable experience - we have all the colors! It is just really fun. It is SO good for Daniel, it really helps him focus and he does well! Sammi loves to color and she will sit for hours creating books, etc. She requested "art supplies" for Christmas, luckily Santa heard!
Awwww, she drew Julia! How sweet! Julia started a letter/picture for Sammi the other day. I'll have to get it back out so she can finish it and mail it. And I need to re-mail your Christmas card, too! I wish Julia and Sammi could see each other!
