right on!
ReplyDeleteNow I don't have to come up with my new year's goals...you did it for me...whew! : ) great list.
Beth and I agree with all you said. (she told me to say that: )
One thing I did do in my journal last night was highlight the top 10 events of 2007 in my life. It was fun to look back and see how God's kindness has protected and led my life.
I also came up for my theme for the year.
I try to create a theme every year to live up to. It's like my 'mantra.'
This year is: "Love God with all my might, mind and strength." (from Moroni 7). I think if I do this, everything else will line up according to His will.
Enjoy each moment of the new year!
love,
Kary
Ditto to Kary's thoughts. You really nailed my goals as well. I really like your poster!!
ReplyDeleteI wrote down a few goals yesterday but I didn't figure out my theme. Kary always inspires me with her themes and so I try to come up with one of my own. I will figure mine out soon!
Thanks for sharing your goals!
Lots of love!!

ReplyDeleteWe call those "Kary Quotes" in our family. ;-) She is famous for them! ;-)
As I was writing my list, I thought I could write a whole bunch of detailed goals that I would most likely not be able to accomplish - then I would be disappointed that I did not. Instead, I felt like keeping it simple, because, well, I am already happy! I just want to continue improving my life over time - and I will!
If I had a theme it would be something that someone said in Relief Society the other day - I loved it!
My new theme:
"Just put on your big-girl panties!"
I thought it was SO funny! When this lady said it in RS everyone was hestrical! It means, just pick yourself up and do what needs to be done - no whining! I was laughing inside for a long time after this lady said it. I think about it all the time! I love it!
I find much of my spiritual strength comes from strange places. I (of course) study the gospel and pray etc. It is the very foundation of my life, without it - I would fall! However, I find most of my themes or "mantras" from things like, Lord of the Rings, or other such inspiring books/movies. I like to find things that are virtuous, lovely of good-report or praiseworthy, that may dwell outside the scope of gospel material, and find the spiritual meaning in those good things. I have a sort of parabolic view on life ... it makes it more interesting! ;-) That is how the Savior taught after all, he told stories to explain a gospel principle. I love it!!
Thanks for all your comments - I sure love to hear from everyone!
Love you lots!
Mari
Hey, I need to inherit the EAT MORE goal! Why didn't I think of that? HOw the heck are ya Mari? I'm glad you found me! Love ya,
