Sunday

Here are some pictures from yesterday after church. Also, another picture of Sammi's crazy hair day. Luckily, other children did pretty crazy things with their hair. I was so happy to see that. I kept asking Sammi, "are you SURE it is crazy hair day today?" she told me she was sure. The last thing I wanted was for her to be the only one at school with silly hair! She said she had lots of fun and that a lot of the kids had silly crazy hair. It was great.

Sunday was a good day. Church was good. My lesson went well with my class. I am losing a bit of my energy as each week goes by, but I am able to keep it up. It is the standing for an hour that gets to me the most. I suppose I should sit, but with eight nine year olds I need to maintain my status as teacher. Sitting does not have that same affect. Anyhow, It was good yesterday. The lesson was on temptation. I brought in a bag of Hershey kisses and during the lesson I made them an offer. I told them they could take one Hershey kiss right now, and eat it right now, or if they wait thay can have 10 Hershey kisses after church was over. I told them I would not change my mind, this was the only offer. So guess what happened? All 3 boys took the one Hershey kiss and all the girls waited for their 10!! Silly boys! The boys quickly realized what they had done and they begged me to change the rules. I told them I could not, they made the choice and they knew what the reward could have been. I even told them how I felt as the teacher. I wanted to give them Hershey kisses, I really did. I felt so bad for them. But I could not bend the rules. Just like Heavenly Father wants to bless us and give us everything, he needs us to choose not to yeild to temptation so He can give us a great reward (Eternal Life). So my major lesson was: Do not give in to something you think you want now for something you know you want in the future. Poor boys, they really learned that lesson the hard way. I was fair though, I did warn them! :) However, the girls were thrilled to walk away with their 10 kisses after church! : )

I love Sundays. We always eat well on Sundays. Yesterday was Lasagna. I also made the chocolate eclair dessert (pudding, graham crackers and chocolate frosting). It worked great, it was a big hit Kary. Anyhow, Sunday dinners are always nice around here. It is also Charles day in the kitchen. He always makes Sunday dinner. He loves to cook, and I love to watch him cook! : )

I am feeling pretty good now. I was not feeling so hot for a few days, stuffy head etc. I am better now. I will get crackin on my exercise routine once again. I am growing a little unsure about running now. I think I may have to mostly walk and perhaps run for short spurts along the way. My belly starts to pull in weird places and I just do not want to pop a gasket! I will be wise, but I will keep trying!! It is getting closer and closer. 2 months left is all! I plan to eat curry, and jump around as much as possible about 2 weeks before my due date. Though, the doctor did say if he suspects the baby to be a big one he would like to induce a bit early to avoid a 10 lb baby - I am good with that! We shall see. I am so glad it will be Spring time during the next few months. That will really be helpful!

That is all for now. . .

Lots of love to you!

  1. How many kisses do I get if I wait till tomorrow? That is a great lesson Mari. I love that the girls resisted temptation. Boy oh boy about the boys! I'm glad you were strong and didn't bend the rules. I'm sure they will never forget that lesson. It may come in handy one day when dating age arrives.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Sunday dinner. That eclair dessert is so yummy. Great to hear it turned out.

Your Will belly looks strong. Your face is fit! Definitely got the runner tone going on girl! Keep it up! loved the pictures!

We're all still sicko here, but the sun has been shining bright, so we are full of light!

If anyone needs an FHE activity (not really kid oriented) I saw a great talk on byu last night from Lucile Johnson. She doesn't have a transcript available, but you can get the audio or video if you got to byubroadcasting.org. Then type in "When all else fails, love never gives up" by Lucile Johnson. It tells you what couples really need and expect of each other in a marriage. She is so cute at 80 years old preaching about true love. It's a great reminder of how we should work super hard every day to recognize the strengths of our spouse..no fault finding allowed. Doesn't everyone want praise? You bet! So, start dishing it out...when your honey comes home today, say something like: "I'm so happy to see you. I love it when you some home. You look hot! Wanna kiss now or 10 later?" See if they give in to temptation. : )

Have fun loving your loved ones!
    hugs,
    Kary

  2. I did it! I ran today! I had to do something I do not like to do, and that is stop, walk, and then run again. Once I get running I do not like to stop!!

I started going out with the intention of just walking. Ths sun was shining and I was feeling pretty good with only a slight tug in the gut. I started to try trotting/jogging and I did it for awhile and then the tug got harder and so I had to walk. I actually swore when I had to stop I was so upset.

Anyhow, I kept walking and walking (power walking that looks really silly, arm swinging and all). Then I felt good again, no tugging. I picked up my feet and a jogged about a mile and a half home. Hooray I did it! There is just nothing like the thrill of running. I love the endorphins - a great and natural high!!

I think if I had a belly bra it would really help. I just do not want to spend the money on it at this point. Anyhow, I am always so happy when I can work past the pain. I did it once again! Yee-ha!
