Hooray for iPhones!
I just wanted to say how grateful I have been for my phone in the last couple of months. For years I have gone without a cell phone -- no big deal, since I rarely answer my land-line anyway. (Yeah, friends/family, I know you are laughing . . . I should say, I NEVER answer my phone.) But in the last few months, life has been a little busier than normal, and I have been driving to-and-fro, all over town. I have had tons of appointments and places to go and having my phone made me feel a little more "safe." I especially loved having it when I was pregnant, just in case.
Just a few things I used/use my iPhone for:
- Texting Charles on a regular basis, love it!
- Sending e-mails
- Taking photos of anything I see, then e-mailing them directly to my mother moments later. That came in handy at the hospital
- Facetime. I Facetimed with my parents before and after giving birth. I could have kept it on during the birth, but that would have been nasty. :-)
- Phone and voicemail. I have had so many phone calls my voicemail box was FULL. From doctors, nurses, insurance, pharmacies, labs, family, friends, school, church, well-wishers, etc. The messages started pilling up. Sorry if I have not gotten back to you -- it has been NUTTY!
- They used my cell to call me for breastfeeding time at the hospital. It would ring every hour and a half. I need to change my ringtone -- it makes me jumpy now.
- Pictures, pictures, pictures! All of the images from the hospital post below were taken from my phone . . . it is just SO EASY to snap an image and e-mail it. AWESOME!
- Scriptures. I can read them anytime, anywhere.
- The Internet with me ALL the time. If I am waiting for the kids in the car after school, I can look up a recipe, check the weather, go through e-mails, check my favorite blogs, and catch-up on the news. It is WAY too handy . . . I think I am becoming addicted.
I went so long without a cell phone, and I thought nothing of it. But now, if you took my phone from me . . .
I think I would FREAK!
welcome to the world. :)
ReplyDeleteWe finally got cell phones about 4 years ago, and we got iphones last summer. I use it so much! I can't imagine how I got along without one.
