Saturday was Sammi's special day. She was able to be baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by her daddy. It was a beautiful time for all of us. It was a Stake Baptism, so three other children were being baptized as well. Sammi sang a solo of the Primary song, Baptism. It was very sweet, and I think I was more nervous for her then she was! Her pure child voice made the song come alive. It was a sweet moment.
As she was confirmed a member of the church, it was metioned in her blessing that now is the time for her to be "The Listener" (That is what Samantha means). When she was blessed as a baby, she was told when the time comes, she will listen to the Holy Ghost -- the time has come. :-)
We love our Sammi. We are so excited for her and her future. She is our Sammi Sunshine -- always bringing light into our lives. :-) 
How exciting! I'll have to show Julia. Is she excited to start going to Activity Days? Julia loves it!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sammi! Now, you have the greatest gift Heavenly Father has given us. The Holy Ghost will always help you. We have to remember to 'receive' it daily by being pure and kind. We should invite the Holy Ghost to be with us in our daily prayers. I recently read a scripture in Mosiah 3:19 that reminds us we must "Yield to the enticings of the Holy Spirit." I love that! Yes, that is how to be "The Listener." We busy our lives w/ so much noise that sometimes we can't hear the Holy Ghost so we don't yield/slow down and follow the promptings He is trying to give us. I find that when I do yield (even though it may not be convenient), I have a much more peaceful, happy day. May "the force" of the LIGHT side always be with you Sammi! So pretty Mari! You all look fabulous! I love that blue shirt on you...super cute!

Wow, what an exciting day! I can't wait until Cavin turns 8...and neither can he-haha! What a beautiful dress, and Sammi looks so pretty in her baptism jumpsuit. What a wonderful day and memory for her!
