The One Ring
I was trying to think of a gift I could give Charles for our anniversary. I sat and pondered for awhile, and then it came to me. Over a year ago he lost his wedding ring in our couch. It feel deep into the depths of the couch, never to be seen again, unless we pulled it apart. Well, what better a gift to give him, then his wedding ring? So, yesterday, I turned the couch upside-down, and tried to locate it. I could hear it deep inside. I started pulling pieces of fabric away, and after about an hour, and some very intense praying and swearing, and then praying again to repent of the swearing -- I found it! I was so excited! So, I wrapped up his ring, and gave it to him with a note that read, "My own, my love, my precious."
He was very happy. :-)
Look closely at the picture . . . it is Charles. :-) I was playing with opacity, you can do some really weird things!

Haha! I knew that wasn't Frodo, but I didn't realize it was Charles! It's amazing how a different hairdo can transform a person. I'm glad you found the ring. Is your couch okay?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe this post. Luke and I just finished a LORD OF THE RINGS marathon. He has been sick for days and I have a bunch of sewing to do so we just went for it!
ReplyDeleteI knew the picture wasn't Frodo either (I just saw him a million times today!) but didn't realize it was Charles either! Nice touch!
Amazing story about the quest for the ring. Those darn couches really suck things in there! Did you find any other treasures??
Lots of love to all!
The couch is fine. :-) I only took apart the bottom of the fabric, and then I repaired it when I was done.
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
I am glad you got to watch the trilogy. We did that last month. We would watch one movie each weekend. It was so fun! I love the movies so much! They are great holiday movies.
Love ya,
Mari
How sweet! That is great! I once lost a diamond out of my band and didn't wear my ring for about 6 months before we got it fixed. It would be really weird feeling to lose my ring.
ReplyDeleteHey Mary that picture is amazing! I love it to death and it is so Charles in every way! Love Katielady
