I wrote this song a few weeks ago. It is my Young Women theme song. :-) It is meant to have a whole bunch of young women singing together, in harmony (I think that would sound AWESOME!) It is also meant to be sung with a guitar -- Charles will be working on that! It is not meant for Sacrament meeting or anything, more like, Young Women's Camp. :-)
Steadfast, Immovable
We are young
But we are strong
Choosing between
Right and wrong
Noble we stand
As sisters, hand in hand
We are, God’s, Young Women
Chorus:
We will not bend
We will not fall
We are steadfast, immovable
Daughters fighting for what’s right
Walking in God’s light
Steadfast, immovable
Steadfast, immovable
With our faith
We find the way
To conquer each new day
Valiant we stand
As sisters, hand in hand
We are, God’s, Young Women
Repeat Chorus:
Well done sister. Keep the music coming. I think the YW will love to learn this song. They like to 'jazz' things up. So, go for it! I love the theme of being steadfast and immovable and find it interesting that that is also the focus of our RS. We must be strong/steadfast and immovable in these latter days. This is not a time for doubt or fear. I think President Hinckley always reminded us to "stand a little taller and be a little better" so we would arise to who we really are and truly be witnesses of Jesus Christ. We have taken the name of Jesus Christ upon us through baptism. If someone called us by His name, would we respond because we know Him or turn away because we could not hear and understand? This is just a pondering question that just came to me....so, ponder and share your thoughts.
