Commentary by Kary: On November 5, 2006, Stephen Joseph Hafen was blessed by his father Ray. He was 6 weeks old and full of peace and joy that day. My heart was so full of joy as he was blessed. I have waited for this day for so long. I remember watching other babies being blessed over the years and I just hoped for the day that I could see my husband bless our little children. I thank Heavenly Father for this marvelous miracle of life every day. He has brought us more joy than we've ever known. Babies are the best! You can see why Jesus loved the little children. One of Stephen's favorite songs is "Jesus Once was a Little Child"; it makes him smile. It's as if he's remembering the time he spent with Jesus before he came to earth when he hears the words. I'm so grateful to know that He knows and loves his Heavenly Father and our Savior. The greatest desire I have for my children is for them to know that they are a child of God and that they need to stand as a true disciple of Jesus Christ so that they can return to His presence. ReplyDeleteI am so very happy for you and your little miracle!! Just reading about his blessing brought tears to my eyes. I know what you mean when you say he has brought more joy than you've ever known. I feel the same way about our little guy. Thanks for the pictures too. He is so cute. I can't wait to meet him.

Thanks for your kind words Mindy. I know you will be thrilled on your baby Ben's blessing day too. I'm just amazed that my little baby brother is a Daddy now! Wow! I'm sure John will pass on his love, kindness and willingness to help others to your son. I could always count on John whenever I needed anything. He was there. We need more "John's" in this world today. Please give my brother a hug for me and tell him I love him.

Indeed there are moments of extreme exhaustion and frustration, but when those magical moments of peace & happiness come from your little one, take time to treasure them. He has a big Spirit in his little body that he wants to share with you. I hope you will feel of that sweet Spirit daily.

I told her I would let her know, but I don't have her email address. Thanks! It was one of the greatest gifts I received for the baby because I could see the time and talent that went into making this for little Stephen. It was so thoughtful for Emily to take the time and put her TLC into each stitch. I stand all amazed!
