Missionary Moments. . .

Pictures and Post by Kary. . .
Last Friday, Mom and Dad had an email from Pres. Nichols stating that their mission call was in the mail. You can imagine Mom's response when Dad told her: "woo hoo!" She was so cute (well, she's always cute, but she just beamed with joy!) The anticipation continues. Dad started checking the mail Monday in hopes that the 'call to serve' would arrive from SLC headquarters. No such luck. Tuesday arrives and we're eating lunch at the dining table. I'm told to be on watch for a white truck carrying the precious cargo from SL. Dad makes the approach to the mailbox, Mom and I go and stand at the door. Mom's blood pressure goes up to 186 and I have to pee my pants. I'm not sure what dad was feeling like, but I assume his heart rate went up to 150 or so. Dad waits for the mailman to drive up and tells him he's waiting for the publisher's clearing house check to come. The mailman replies: "it's in the mail." Well, Mom and Dad continue to wait for the call to come. This mailman needs some serious coaching from Karl Malone since he's a mailman that knows how to deliver. It is now Wednesday and Mom's patience continues to be tested. She is managing quite well as long as we engage in a Yoga session now and then to keep centered and breathing deeply. I'm very impressed with her calm demeanor as she awaits for the arrival of the big white envelope. Tune in tomorrow to see if Dad gives a 'thumbs up' after checking the mail. They will call ya' all when they receive their call to................

  1. I love the pictures of ma and pa. Do not worry, it will come soon! Then you will know what your life will hold for you for the next - is it 18 months? Amazing! I am sure you are curious to know where you will be off to! How fun!

  3. You would think that is all he had.
Mail has been and gone today (Thursday) and no call yet. I guess this is supposed to be teaching me patience. Must be a slow learner.
    Love you all,
    Mom

  4. Yes, Mari, it was a true concidence on the clothing. I rotate what I wear on a 75 day cycle so that it is that long before I repeat any possible combination of clothing. So those pictures just happened to be taken 75 days apart. I wouldn't want my reputation as a stylin' dude to be sullied in any way.

  5. The only reason I mentioned your clothes was because I did not think you ever wore the same thing more than once! : ) 75 day cycle huh? Wow, that is pretty good! I think I have about a 2 day cycle for my clothing! : )
